Attention all Kindle owners!

Rise and Shine

My novelette Rise and Shine is FREE on Amazon for the next few days! [now ended]

The story’s first review on Amazon.com came today:

“This is one of the better ghost stories I’ve read in a while. It was sad and haunting, but there was a great resolution at the end. This is the first story that I’ve read by this author, and I will be reading more. Yep, I’d recommend this story and author.”

“Small Change” – Story acceptance

I’m thrilled that my fantasy/humour story “Small Change” has been picked up by Strange Musings Press for their Alternate Hilarities anthology, which is slated for release early 2014. Set in Glasgow, the tale features a cheeky wee creature of myth – hopefully it should tickle a laughing muscle or two.

“The Blighted” – Story acceptance

It was great to hear today that my short story “The Blighted” will feature in 100 Doors To Madness, an anthology from Forgotten Tomb Press. The publisher describes the project as “a horror anthology of flash and micro fiction celebrating the diversity of the genre. 100 scares. 100 authors. 100 ways to creep into readers’ minds”. I understand that the book will be released in both paperback and e-book formats, and should be out later this month.

This one definitely won’t be for the faint-hearted!

“The Masterless” – Story acceptance

It is with great delight that I announce my novelette “The Masterless” will be included in Hero’s Best Friend: An Anthology of Animal Companions (Seventh Star Press). The book should be out later in the year, in both print and ebook versions. I’ll keep you posted on release dates etc.

HAPPY THOR’S DAY! (or it’s release day so getcher sword and sorcery hot off the digital presses!)

NOIR MUSINGS

So I had this hankering about, ohhhhh, a year ago. I wanted a sword and sorcery anthology, done right by a press who would not only appreciate the genre but actively enjoy it, that I could submit a story to. I have this character Theok who is a Northland barbarian living and adventuring in a sword and sorcery version of the Old Testament. He is a follower of Yahweh translated through his upbringing as a barbarian so he views and serves Him as a warrior God. It’s like what the Bible would be like if written by Robert E. Howard.

Anyways, I have long liked the way Seventh Star Press runs their ship. They put out a top notch product, promote the hell out of it, and their authors are really happy. So I hit up Stephen Zimmer, the go to man for all things Seventh Star, and said to…
